God Does More Than We Ever Could

We should never  think that God is asking too much from us. The truth is, He always does far more for us than we could ever do for Him.

Time and again, the Bible shows us that God’s greatest works were not triggered by man’s strength or cleverness, but by simple obedience. When men and women trusted His Word and followed it. Despite fear, obstacles, or uncertainty, God moved in supernatural ways.

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13

What Did God Ask? Listen. Trust. Obey.

As I read the lives of faithful men like Moses, David, Joshua, and others, I see a pattern. God’s commands were often straightforward. It is not always easy, but always clear. And when these men obeyed, God responded with power, provision, and victory.

Here are a few examples:

1. Moses: Stretch Out the Rod

God didn’t ask Moses to part the Red Sea. He simply said:

“But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it…” Exodus 14:16

And when Moses obeyed, God parted the waters. Dry ground appeared, and Israel walked through a miracle.

2. Joshua: March Around the Wall

God didn’t ask Joshua to tear down Jericho with weapons. He told him to march in silence once a day for six days, and seven times on the seventh day.

“And it came to pass at the seventh time… the wall fell down flat…” Joshua 6:20

One of the most famous military victories in history came from obedient walking and faithful waiting.

3. David: Step Forward With a Sling

David didn’t defeat Goliath because he was strong. He obeyed God’s prompting to go in His name, with only a sling and five stones.

“Then said David to the Philistine… I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts…” 1 Samuel 17:45

God delivered the giant into his hand. Not because David was mighty, but because he believed.

4. Naaman: Dip Seven Times

Naaman was a Syrian general with leprosy. The prophet Elisha told him to dip in the Jordan River seven times. It seemed too simple to be true.

“Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan… and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child…”

2 Kings 5:14

Healing followed obedience even when the command didn’t make sense to human logic.

Will you trust Him today?  Will you take that next step of obedience and watch God do miracles in your life?

He’s still the same God who parted seas, brought down walls, and raised the dead.  Take Him at His Word and let the impossible begin.
